quando si usa il past simple

il passato semplice in inglese e' usato per:

il passato semplice in inglese e' usato spesso con espressioni tipo last year, 2 months ago, yesterday,in 2009 etc:
I went to Sardinia 2 months ago.
Sono andato in Sardegna e mesi fa.

it was-we,you, they were

il passato semplice del verbo have si forma con had per tutte le persone:

past simple o past perfect?

questi due tempi sono entrambi usati per parlare di cose successe nel passato.

Comunque noi usiamo il past perfect per parlare qualcosa che e' successa prima di un'altra azione nel passato (che e' di solito espressa col past simple) .

esempi:

- I had already had my meal when he rung the doorbell
io avevo gia' mangiato il mio pasto quando lei suono' il campanello .

Il punto di partenza della frase e' il verbo al passato rung ,il past perfect I had already had serve a precisare che prima abbiamo mangiato il pasto ,poi ha suonato il campanello , in pratica se in una stessa frase ci sono il past perfect che il past simple ,l'azione al past perfect e' sempre successa prima di quella al past simple.
